Who gives a shit? Anyone in America? NO. 2009 marks the second year of the WBC. The 'C' stands for classic. Nothing can be called Classic if it's in its second year of existence. Not even Coca Cola. Coca Cola has put its time in and can now be called Classic. The World Baseball Classic cannot be classic for at least 10 years. At least. Maybe not ever. This tournament sucks.
Pedroia to Jeter to Youkilis for a double play? Something is extremely wrong with the sound of that. Pedroia is a Red Sox and Jeter is a Yankee. These two should never turn double plays together. They should be throwing punches at each other. I would take Pedroia anyday in that fight. Jeter is a pussy more concerned with how he looks than how he plays. Pedroia would no doubt club him in the face with his MVP trophy, ending the fight quickly. (See: here)
What about the MLB season? Why are the players in the WBC playing every other or every second day? They have the real season coming up and, instead, they are wasting their time sitting on the bench for Team USA? This puts everyone behind. I'm glad the St. Louis Cardinal players aren't busy with the WBC. Chipper Jones said it best when he said this tournament has serious flaws. I have a solution: Get rid of it.

what if the WBC was played in another country where it is a bigger deal? would that not reward the countries for which the majority of players in the MLB are coming from? maybe it is not a big deal for the United States and baseball fans in America, but it is certainly a big deal to tons and tons of other people.
I have no want to watch the WBC, I probably watched a total of 2 innings of this entire one, but there is definitely a different demographic that thoroughly enjoys it, and it should not be disbanded because people in America do not like it. Move it to China or something. That's all.
